Using Apple frameworks such as Core ML and Metal, HIMO’s developer team built a custom AI-powered app to streamline the company’s photo production flow. These apps enable hundreds of retouchers to quickly work on tens of thousands of photos in HIMO’s retouching centers. Running locally on Mac, this process saves retouchers 60 seconds per image, which translates to over 30,000 hours saved collectively each month. This allows more time for the photo retouching teams to create personal and artistic touches. And Apple silicon makes retouching and processing hundreds of
large images even faster.
